26-year-old Mecara Claybrooks was charged with domestic assault after striking her child’s father in the face and fleeing through his window.
On September 5th, CPD Officer Szczerbiak responded to a domestic disturbance at 117 Bennett Drive. An anonymous individual contacted the police when they witnessed a fight. Upon arrival, officers made contact with Mecara and Andre Claybrooks. According to the affidavit, Mecara came to the residence to give Andre an opportunity to see his children.
One of their children advised police that while Mecara and Andre were arguing about the children, she struck Andre then left out of a window in the residence. Andre was able to videotape the next half of the altercation when he followed Mecara outside. She attempted to strike him again and they began fighting over the cell phone. Mecara was determined to be the primary aggressor.
Mecara Claybrooks was arrested and charged with domestic assault. Her bond was set a $2,000.
