Woman charged after reportedly pulling gun on soon-to-be-ex during custody exchange

34-year-old Renee Hardimon was charged with domestic assault after reportedly shoving her soon-to-be-ex around and striking him in the head during a custody exchange.

On December 3rd, Clarksville Police Officer Robert Schon was dispatched to a domestic violence call at 900 Tudor Lane. Per the affidavit, Vernon Hardimon called 911 and stated that he and his soon to be ex-wife, Renee Hardimon, got into a verbal argument that turned physical. Upon arrival, he told Officer Schon he was there to exchange custody of the children.

When he informed Renee that he was going to take the van, she asked to take the truck, which he refused. As he was leaving he heard the garage door open, so he walked to the driver’s side door of the van to prevent Renee from entering. Vernon stated it was at this time when Renee shoved him and struck him in the back of the head. Pushing and shoving continued until Renee fell to the ground. She then pulled a firearm on him from her side holster, in what she claims was self-defense. When Vernon saw the firearm, he claimed he backed away and called the police.

Renee Hardimon was arrested and charged with domestic assault. She was later released on a $500 bond.
