Wife choked in parking lot of Wendy’s restaurant

33-year-old Nathan Hopson was charged with aggravated domestic assault after grabbing his wife by the throat and restricting her airflow in the parking lot of the Wendy’s on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard.

On June 13th, Officer Knoblock was dispatched to the Mapco gas station located on 2099 Wilma Rudolph Blvd. Upon arrival, Knoblock made contact with the wife of Nathan Hopson, who informed law enforcement of the reasoning behind her call for service. Earlier in the day, Hopson and his wife met at the Wendy’s located on 2800 Wilma Rudolph Blvd. While speaking with her husband, Hopson reportedly grabbed the woman by the throat. Hopson’s assault restricted the airflow of his wife, causing her to be unable to breathe, per report.

There were no noticeable injuries sustained to the woman. Further investigation revealed no prior domestic history between the two parties. Officers proceeded to place Hopson into custody for domestic aggravated assault.

Nathan Hopson was arrested and charged with aggravated domestic assault. His bond was set at $2,500.
