Man jailed after threatening via text “an order of protection is only a piece of paper”

44-year-old Kenneth Steele was charged with harassment after a woman told authorities that he sent her text messages threatening to “burn the house down” and taunting that “an order of protection is only a piece of paper.”

On June 10th, according to an affidavit, Kenneth Steele willfully sent threatening text messages to a woman that made her fearful. She claimed he told her he would “burn the house down” and that “an order of protection is only a piece of paper.”

Kenneth Steele was arrested and charged with harassment. He is jailed in lieu of a $5,000 bond.
