Special Forces soldier charged after holding ex-wife to wall by her neck, per report

32-year-old Mark Richards was charged with domestic assault and driving under the influence when he admitted to police that he consumed eight shots of Jack Daniels before leaving his house due to a physical altercation with his ex.

On October 27th, Clarksville Police Officer Robinson was en-route to the residence of Mark Richardson and Alyssa Mulligan located at 144 Dave Drive in regards to a domestic in progress when he was advised by dispatch that an intoxicated individual had left the residence in a Honda CRV. Officer Robinson located the vehicle but before he could initiate a traffic stop the vehicle returned to the residence.

Mark Richards exited the vehicle and was reportedly unsteady on his feet and had slurred speech. When the officer asked him if he had consumed any alcohol, Mark advised that he had eight shots of Jack Daniels whiskey prior to driving. He agreed to perform standard field sobriety tasks and did poorly. He then consented to give a breath sample once transported to the jail which later had a final result of 0.165 g/210L. While at the residence, the officer spoke to Alyssa Mulligan who stated that she and Mark got into a verbal argument and he became irate. She advised that when she went to the bedroom to get her cell phone Mark grabbed her by the neck and shoved her up against the wall. Mark stated that there was a verbal altercation but insisted that he did not touch her. He advised that he tried to leave the residence due to the argument, but Alyssa grabbed him by the shoulders as he was leaving. Mark was determined to be the primary aggressor.

Mark Richards was arrested and charged with domestic assault and driving under the influence. He was released on a $3,000 bond.
