Naked man found parked in neighbor’s driveway attempts to resist arrest

61-year-old Charles Haywood was charged with aggravated assault, possession of marijuana, unlawful drug paraphernalia, indecent exposure, and resisting arrest when his neighbor finds him in his vehicle completely nude with a crack pipe.

On August 21st, Officer Donavane Robertson responded to an aggravated assault at 317 Notgrass Road. The officer made contact with Jonathan Wilkins who stated that he heard a car horn blowing in his driveway. Wilkins advised that when he went to check out the noise he found his neighbor, Charles Haywood, naked in one of his vehicles. At this point, Wilkins removed him from his vehicle and Haywood went home. As the officers were speaking with Wilkins, they witnessed Haywood walking around outside unclothed. When officers attempted to speak to Haywood, he went to the rear of his home and put on a pair of pajama pants.

He then went into a shed and refused to speak to officers. Haywood proceeded to touch a pair of hedge trimmers and stated “I’m not going to come at them like that.” He momentarily stepped out of the shed but when officers attempted to apprehend him he went back to the shed and picked up a hand saw. When he refused to put the hand saw down officers sprayed him in the face with a chemical agent and removed him from the shed. Haywood then began to tuck his arms under his body preventing officers from placing him into custody. After officers gained control of him they removed a crack pipe from his hands and in one of his front pockets was a bag of a green leafy substance that was tested positive for THC.

Charles Haywood was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, simple possession, unlawful drug paraphernalia, indecent exposure, and resisting arrest. His bond was set at $45,000.
