35-year-old Jacqueline McGarry was charged with child abuse, DUI, and open container violation when she was caught speeding and veering into oncoming traffic with her three-year-old child in the backseat as well as an open bottle of vodka.
On September 13th, Clarksville police Officer Matthew Johnson received a report of a maroon Ford traveling at high speeds and swerving into oncoming traffic towards Madison Street from Highway 76. After squealing the tires to make a left turn onto Madison, Clarksville Police Officer Alquzweeni and Officer Johnson conducted a traffic stop at 2315 Madison Street, near Walmart.
Officers noted the driver, Jacqueline McGarry, smelled strongly of alcohol. Inside the vehicle, her 3-year-old child was in the back seat and an open bottle of Tito’s Vodka was on the center console. She was unable to perform a field sobriety test so she was transported to the Sango Emergency Room to get a blood test.
Jacqueline McGarry was arrested and charged with DUI, child abuse, and open container violation. Her bond was set at $4,500.
