Repeat offender gets charged with drug possession twice in one day

feat Wood Cooper

23-year-old Cooper Wood was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after law enforcement searched his home while responding to a domestic assault call.

On September 22nd, Deputy Cody Evans responded to a call about a domestic in progress at 2811 Woodlawn Road. Deputy Evans spoke to Cooper Wood, who stated that nothing physical occurred between him and Shianne Smith, who confirmed that nothing had happened. Deputy Evans was given consent by Woods to search the residence.

During the search, a small container containing approximately 36.54 grams of a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana was found, along with a digital scale and rolling papers. Wood claimed responsibility for the bag, container, and its contents and admitted the substance was marijuana. Wood had been cited for simple possession earlier in the day by Clarksville Police Department.

Cooper Wood was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $5,000.

Cooper was also arrested and charged in June with aggravated assault when he reportedly strangled his girlfriend to a point that she blacked out.
