Florida man found unconscious behind wheel of damaged car on Cameo Court

40-year-old David Reeves was charged with driving under the influence, open container, driving on revoked, and no insurance after being found unresponsive behind the wheel of a damaged car with an open bottle of vodka in the car.

On September 21st, Clarksville Police Officer Gibbons was dispatched to 592 Cameo Court in response to a crash. Police found a black car with damage to the front end and the fire department surrounding the vehicle. The driver, David Reeves, was unresponsive but breathing behind the wheel and was given a 4 mg dose of naloxone after which he regained consciousness.

Authorities noted an open bottle of New Amsterdam vodka in the passenger floorboard. Reeves was detained and admitted to drinking earlier in the day. He claimed that he started drinking at 3:00 p.m. and the crash happened at 5:37 p.m. Reeve’s refused sobriety tests but agreed to provide a blood sample. This was Reeve’s first DUI, and a check of Reeve’s information showed that he had a revoked license and failure to pay child support. He was unable to provide proof of insurance.

David Reeves was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, open container, driving on a revoked license, and driving without insurance. His bond was set at $2,000.
