Felon with handgun, “a little bit of weed,” and no license tells officer he is a murderer during stop

31-year-old Blake Wright was charged with possession of stolen property, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana, convicted felon going armed, and failure to obey traffic control signals after running a red light with marijuana and a stolen firearm in the vehicle. He later received another assault charge while in jail.

On October 20th, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Officer Ryan Wright noticed a silver Chevrolet Silverado run a red light at Purple Heart Parkway and Evans Road. After pulling the Chevy over and walking up to it, the driver, Blake Wright, stated that he was “going to fast to stop.” Officer Wright reportedly asked for his driver license to which he replied that he did not have one, because he just got out of jail for murder.

Officer Wright then noticed an odor of “raw marijuana” coming from the Chevy and asked Blake how much was in the car. Blake answered “none, a little bit.” Blake then refused to get out of the vehicle or have it searched. He did tell the officer that he would give him the weed. Blake then handed the officer a bag with 6.28 grams of weed in it, per the report. Once other deputies arrived, Officer Wright opened the driver’s door and asked Blake to exit the vehicle again, which he refused again and started to get upset.

Another deputy opened the passenger door and unbuckled Blake’s seatbelt, at which point Blake starting yelling to get out of his car. Blake was then pulled from the vehicle and placed on the ground. While being handcuffed he kept pulling his arms away. Officer Wright then searched the vehicle and found a firearm that was reported stolen under the armrest of the center seat.

On October 21st, Montgomery County Jail Deputy Tapp went to speak with Blake about some medical issues he was having. After informing Blake that the nurse will be there shortly to check on him, his cellmate, Evans, walked to the door and started talking to Tapp. Blake stated that his medical problems were more important than whatever Evans wanted to speak about. The two started yelling and then Blake punched Evans in the face and stood over him after he dropped.

On October 20th, Blake Wright was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana, convicted felon going armed, and failure to obey traffic control signals.

On October 21st, while in custody Blake Wright was charged with assault. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $46,000 bond.
