Family man charged after assaulting his brothers and their mother

50-year-old David Bland was charged with three counts of domestic assault after punching one brother, kicking the other, and seizing his mother by the arm after a verbal altercation.

On August 29th, CPD Officer R. Moss responded to a domestic violence at 22 Dalewood Drive. When Moss arrived, contact was made with David Bland’s brother, Jerry Bland. Jerry stated David physically assaulted him, his brother Larry Bland, and their mother Deloris Bland. Jerry told police David was at the residence to pick up some cigarettes and a bed, but an argument broke out.

The verbal altercation turned physical when David punched Jerry in the face giving him a laceration above his left eye. Larry attempted to get in between the two brothers and David kicks Larry in the right shin causing a laceration. Deloris witnessed the entire altercation. She attempted to exit the home, but David grabbed her by the arms and caused abrasions to her left forearm and right hand. Moss observed blood near the front door which belonged to Jerry. EMS treated both Jerry and Larry for their injuries.

David Bland was arrested and charged with three counts of domestic assault. His bond was set at $7,500. Bland made bail and is no longer in custody.
