Stumbling man admits to police that he “had too much to drink” that night

54-year-old Bryan Hite was charged with public intoxication when police found him walking on Kraft Street unsteady on his feet and smelling strongly of alcohol before telling police that he had fallen into the street prior to the officer’s arrival.

On August 29th, around midnight Clarksville Police Department Officer Novenario identified Bryan Hite after a call regarding an intoxicated man stumbling down Kraft Street. When Officer Novenario made contact with Hite at 868 Kraft Street he noticed that he was unsteady on his feet and smelled strongly of alcohol.

Hite told him that he had too much to drink that night and almost fell into the roadway before the officer arrived. When the officer ran Hite through the police database he found that Hite had Conditions of Release still active from a previous charge. Being intoxicated is a violation of one of his conditions, specifically, Condition E, which states that he is prohibited from possessing or consuming alcohol.

Bryan Hite was arrested and charged with public intoxication as well as having two warrants for contempt. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $2,439 bond.
