Driver denies impairment to police at the scene; girlfriend tells Scoop: “He was on a xan real bad”

26-year-old Joey Leo Hall was charged with driving under the influence after failing to maintain his lane and failing the field sobriety test.

On October 28th, Clarksville Police Officer Darrius Robinson initiated a traffic stop on a GMC Sierra located at the corner of Fort Campbell Boulevard and Lealand Drive for failure to maintain their lane. Upon making contact with the driver and identifying him as Joseph Leo Hall, Officer Robinson questioned if he had consumed any alcohol or taken any controlled substances. Hall had denied taking any substances.

Officer Robinson proceeded to asked Hall if he would consent to perform a field sobriety test, to which he stated yes. During the field sobriety test, Hall had performed poorly on the tasks that the officer instructed him to perform. Hall later consented to a blood test. It was noted that after running Hall’s information through the NCIC, the results revealed he had an active warrant for simple possession. Hall has previously been featured on Scoop: Clarksville when he was charged with aggravated assault Rachel Hampton.

Scoop Clarksville reached out to Joey Hall’s girlfriend, Rachel Hampton, about the situation. She provided the comment, “He was on a xan real bad. That’s all I can say.” Rachel Hampton has previously been featured on Scoop: Clarksville when she was charged with the assault of Joey Hall.

Joseph Leo Hall was arrested and charged with driving under the influence. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $1,500 bond.
