Man strangles girlfriend when she wants to break up their relationship

25-year-old Steven Brown was charged with aggravated domestic assault after he got his hands around his girlfriend’s throat and strangled her until she could not breathe when she told Brown she wanted to leave their relationship.

On October 28th, Clarksville Police Department Officer Joshua Godwin responded to a service call from Turtle Creek Townhomes located at 2326 Raleigh Court. According to the report, Steven Brown and his girlfriend, Tourckaine Blankenship, were arguing when she stated that she wanted to breakup. Blankenship claimed Brown then grabbed her by the throat and squeezed until she could not breathe. Officer Godwin noted visible injury to Blankenship’s neck.

Steven Brown was arrested and charged with aggravated domestic assault. He was released on a $5,000 bond.
