Clarksville man charged after argument turns into road rage

38-year-old Deangelo Collins was charged with aggravated assault after a heated argument with a woman about his girlfriend turned into a dangerous road rage incident.

On May 12th, Officer Derek Meyer with the Clarksville Police Department responded to a domestic violence call at 1017 Bobcat Drive. The victim told police she had gone to the home of Deangelo Collins and they began to argue.

She left the residence only to see Collins coming up behind her at a high rate of speed. Collins pulled into the oncoming lane of traffic and started screaming at her from his window. He then tried to swerve and hit her. The victim swerved out of the way, only to have Collins pull in front of her and stop to block her in. She was able to drive around him and another car and escape the area.

She contacted police to pursue charges, as she felt her life was in danger from the incident. This is not the first assault charge levied against Collins. According to court records, he has a lengthy criminal history.

Deangelo Markeith Collins was arrested and charged with aggravated domestic assault. His bond was set at $1,000.
