37-year-old Tiffany Chitwood was charged with domestic assault after she grabbed her husband by the shirt and clawed him during an argument about their stimulus check.
On August 25th, MCSO Deputy Michael Weber dispatched officers to 3778 McGregor Road in regard to a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, contact was made with Michael Chitwood. He informed deputies that he and his wife, Tiffany Chitwood, were arguing about their stimulus check.
Michael advised when Tiffany found out that he found the check, she attempted to transfer $3,900 from their joint account to her personal account. He stated that he quickly called USAA to stop the transaction and while he was on the phone, Tiffany followed him out to the carport while yelling at him. Michael reported he turned away from her to speak to the representative and she grabbed him by his shirt and ripped it. He told police that when he turned to face her she began to hit and kick him. Michael explained at that point he pushed her off of him and threatened to call the police if she continued to attack him.
When the officer spoke with Tiffany Chitwood her story parallelled Michael’s, however, she advised that he punched her in the face when she attempted to pull the check out of his hand. Then she grabbed his shirt and ripped it, and then left to call 911. Investigators noted that there were scratches on Michael’s right shoulder along with the torn shirt, but there were no marks on her. Tiffany was determined to be the primary aggressor and was placed into custody.
Tiffany Chitwood was arrested and charged with domestic assault. Her bond was set at $1,500.
