Man charged with domestic assault after lover’s spat over past due rental car

35-year-old Terry Hamby was charged with domestic assault, drug paraphernalia, and driving while suspended after his girlfriend said he shoved her face during an argument about driving an overdue rental vehicle.

On August 21st, Clarksville Police Officer Timothy Green was dispatched to the Walmart on 3050 Wilma Rudolph Boulevard in regard to a domestic incident. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with Heather Johnson who advised that she was involved in an argument about relationship issues with her boyfriend Terry Hamby. Heather stated that during the argument Terry placed his hand on her face and shoved her head away.

The altercation involved driving a vehicle discovered to be an Enterprise rental vehicle that was supposed to have been returned in mid-July. Officer Green searched the vehicle and found several items of drug paraphernalia in the trunk including a metal grinder, a small digital scale, and a baggie with small specks of green substance inside. Terry admitted that all of the paraphernalia was his. A system check advised that Terry’s South Carolina driver’s license was suspended with the last active date of 2009.

Terry Hamby was arrested and charged with domestic assault, unlawful drug paraphernalia, and driving while suspended. He is jailed in lieu of a $5,000 bond.
