Tinted window violation, dispute with police ends in drug charges

25-year-old Anterrio Partee was charged with unlawful drug paraphernalia, driving on a suspended license, illegal window tint, and resisting arrest after he was approached by police about his window tint and he left a grinder and a mason jar full of cannabis in his vehicle. Remnants of THC were found throughout the floorboard of his Nissan.

On May 31st, Officer Hickmon noticed a gray Nissan pulling into the Speedway gas station located on 320 Providence Blvd. Hickmon proceeded to contact the driver of the vehicle, because of his window tint giving rise to a violation. When asked for his license, Partee reportedly avoided looking for it and started to use his cell phone. After using the phone he looked into a female’s wallet for identification, per report. Hickmon then asked Partee to remove himself from the Nissan, to which he refused.

According to the affidavit, the officer assisted Partee out of the vehicle who responded by utilizing his body force against Hickmon. The National Crime Information Center revealed Partee’s license to be suspended as of August 2016 for failure to pay fines. Partee also admitted to not having insurance.

A K9 unit was then dispatched to do a sniff search on the Nissan. The K9 was alerted by the scents inside the vehicle, initiating a probable cause search. Officers found a grinder containing a “green, plant-like material” inside the center of the vehicle. Green leafy substances were found on the driver’s side floorboard, seat, and trunk regions. All substances tested positive for THC.

Anterrio Partee was arrested and charged with unlawful drug paraphernalia, driving on a suspended license, illegal window tint, and resisting arrest. His bond was set at $10,000.
