Lunch box full of weed results in drug charges for Clarksville man

41-year-old Tavares Trice was charged with possession of marijuana for resale, simple possession, and unlawful drug paraphernalia after a routine traffic stop revealed Trice to be carrying over 14 grams of marijuana.

On May 25th, Officer Weaver initiated a traffic stop on a Dodge Charger at the McDonald’s located on 792 N 2nd St. Weaver proceeded to meet the driver, Tavares Trice, whose vehicle emitted a scent similar to that of marijuana. Weaver then conducted a probable cause search on the Charger.

The search uncovered a blunt presumably containing marijuana on an ashtray in the car’s cup holder, a lunch box with three bags of assumed marijuana, cell phone, and a package of cigarillos. Further testing revealed the substance to be marijuana. The estimated weight of the substance was in excess of 14.175 grams, according to the affidavit.

Tavares Trice was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana for resale, simple possession, and unlawful drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $15,000.
