State employee admits to driving drunk before crashing into a dumpster

47-year-old Kelvin Samuel was charged with DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, and prohibited use of phone while driving after he wrecked his truck through a neighborhood and admitted to police that he drank before driving and texted while driving before crashing into an industrial dumpster.

On May 31st, Officer Onfroy was called to 504 Woodtrace Drive where the defendant, Kelvin Samuel, was found in a Chevrolet Colorado that was crashed into a wall by an industrial dumpster. Daniel Howard, Sonja Williams, and Jacob Harsch’s neighborhood were he crashed through before finally wrecking into the wall of an industrial-sized dumpster, per report.

When interviewed Samuel admitted to drinking a few beers before he left home to drive and texting on his phone while driving. Police required him to perform a standard field sobriety test and placed him into custody upon completion, and he agreed to submit a breath/blood sample. Before taken to Montgomery Jail he was transported to Tennova Hospital to be medically cleared. Samuel is a finance & administration employee with the State of Tennessee.

Kelvin Samuel was arrested and charged with DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, and prohibited use of phone while driving. His bond was set at $5,000.
