Woman charged for assaulting husband after officers respond to an ambulance call

32-year-old Erica Williams was charged with domestic assault when her husband told officers she was drinking and hostile. He tried to go to bed and she followed him and assaulted him.

On June 1st, Clarksville Police Officer Adam Price was called to an ambulance call at 1396 Scrub Oak Drive. According to the affidavit, Erica Williams’ husband told authorities that his wife was intoxicated and argumentative so he had gone to bed in an attempt to avoid escalation. She followed him and was hitting him in the bed until he sat up and pushed her away.

He said she had fallen over a stool and cut her nose. Erica Williams told officers nothing had happened and would not explain her injuries. She was transported to Tennova by emergency medical personnel and her husband sustained fingernail scratches on his arm. The couple does not have a history of domestic incidence.

Erica Williams was arrested and charged with domestic assault. Her bond was set at $1,000.
