Nashville man found intoxicated and stranded after street fight

24-year-old Donnell Porter was charged with public intoxication when he was found stumbling away from a reported street fight. He told officers that he did not have a ride home.

On August 28th, Clarksville Police Officer Westover responded to a fight in progress in the area of Whitfield and Needmore Road. While en route to the scene, 911 dispatch provided a description for a black male, later identified as Donnell Porter, stumbling away from the scene of the alleged fight.

Officer Westover observed Porter stumbling over a trash can in the parking lot of 770 Needmore Road. Porter had a strong odor of an intoxicant on his person, was uneasy on his feet, and had slurred speech. Porter advised the officer that he was from Nashville and did not have a ride home. Officer Westover deemed him to be a danger to himself and placed him into custody.

Donnell Porter was arrested and charged with public intoxication. His bond was set at $439.
