Midtown Motel Melee: Man charged with assault after woman says she refused to eat

31-year-old Donald Doss was charged with domestic assault after he hit his girlfriend in the mouth while in their motel room because she did not want to eat.

On October 18th, Clarksville Police Department Officer Matthew Johnson arrived at Midtown Inn located at 890 Kraft Street in response to a welfare check call. Donald Doss called the police to advise that his girlfriend, Tyisha Lyles, was “freaking out” on him so he left but wanted someone to check on her.

When Officer Johnson spoke with Lyles, she reported they had gotten into an argument because she did not want to eat. Lyles said that Doss hit her in the mouth, then pushed her, took her phone, and left. According to the affidavit, Lyles had a busted lip and marks on her neck.

Donald Doss was arrested and charged with domestic assault. He was released on a $2,500 bond.
