31-year-old Darrel Johnson was charged with aggravated assault when he grabbed his girlfriend by the neck during an argument about another man texting her.
On September 16th, Clarksville Police Officer Sara Weber responded to a domestic dispute at 8 Proctor Drive Unit 2. When Weber arrived, she heard a male and a female arguing inside. Weber first made contact with the girlfriend of Darrel Johnson, who stated he grabbed her by the neck during an argument, which intimidated her.
She stated that she could breathe and never lost consciousness. She advised Weber that an argument ensued between her and Darrel about the location of her keys and another male texting her. Due to the markings on her neck and the allegations made, Darrel was identified as the primary aggressor and was taken into custody.
Darrel Johnson was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. His bond was set at $10,000.
