Man leads police on 90 MPH chase through Montgomery County line; per report

37-year-old Mark Harrison was charged with theft of property, two counts of evading arrest, driving with an open container, and driving with a suspended license after he reportedly was chased by the cops and had multiple bottles of alcohol in his vehicle.

On December 5th, Montgomery Sheriff’s Deputy Kelley Potter was informed by Stewart County that they were following “a confirmed 44 vehicle” into Montgomery County, per the report. Deputy Potter and other officers followed behind the vehicle around the Montgomery County line. They were following the vehicle at speeds of 90 mph in a 45 mph zone, per the affidavit. They followed the vehicle through the intersection of Dover Road and Providence Boulevard, and then the vehicle turned left onto Providence Boulevard as Deputy Potter and other officers approached Lafayette Road.

The vehicle drove through a pawn shop parking lot and bouned over a curb. Afterward, the vehicle continued to travel through the parking lot and toward the back of the business. The vehicle tried to go through the grass but got stuck. Mark Harrison proceeded to take off on foot and ran about 100 yards before being arrested, according to the affidavit. The vehicle was reported stolen out of Henry County, a white Nissan Altima. When the vehicle was searched, they found numerous bottles of Crown Royal and Harrison reportedly had an odor of alcohol emitting from his person.

Mark Harrison was arrested and charged with theft of property, two counts of evading arrest, driving with an open container, and driving with a suspended license. All of his charges were bound over to a Grand Jury, and he is currently jailed in lieu of a $35,000 bond.
