Man charged after he claims nearly one-half pound of marijuana, guns, and scale

35-year-old Nickolas Gaither was charged with possession of unlawful paraphernalia, a firearm, and marijuana for resale after officers located 7.9 ounces of marijuana, two firearms, and a digital scale in a vehicle.

On November 29th, Clarksville Police officers responded to reports of a man with a gun at 2150 Fort Campbell Boulevard. When officers arrived, they made contact with a group of people standing near a Honda Accord. While performing separate investigations, Officers spotted two handguns and a bag of suspected marijuana. K9 Officer Trescott deployed his police service dog, Arlo, to do an odor sniff of the vehicle.

Arlo provided a positive response to the vehicle. A Smith & Wesson pistol and Glock pistol were located inside of the Honda Accord. Officers also located a bag of suspected marijuana, a digital scale, and two cigarillos. Nickolas Gaither, one of the people within the group, took ownership of all items after being read his Miranda rights. The leafy substance gave a positive indication for marijuana and weighed 7.9 ounces.

Nickolas Gaither was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of unlawful drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana for resale. He was later released on a $35,000 bond.
