Moore spoke with Derek Grissom, who smelled of alcohol and appeared to be drunk. Grissom stated that his 14-year-old son was being “unruly.” Moore then spoke with the son who had been crying. He advised that Grissom had drunkenly woke him from sleep yelling at him for not doing chores. According to him, Grissom threw a book at him after making him do pushups. The book left a “big red mark under his right eye.” The son stated he was worried about his 5-year-old sister who also lived with them.

Derek Grissom was arrested and charged with domestic assault. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $3,000 bond.
