Couple charged after combat involving power tools and strangulation

34-year old Anthony Hedge and 29-year-old Virginia Salgado were charged with aggravated domestic assault after he strangled her until she lost consciousness and she attempted to hit him with a drill.

On October 27th, Clarksville Police Department Officer Clint Sutton arrived at the residence of 2411 Andersonville Drive in response to a domestic call. Sutton spoke with Anthony Hedge who claimed that his wife, Virginia Salgado, had been verbally arguing.

It turned physical when Salgado punched him in the face, cutting his cheek. Hedge stated they started fighting and he put his hands around her neck to strangle her. Salgado then tried to hit him with a drill and said if he wanted a way out she would give it to him. Hedge stated that he believed she wanted to kill him. According to Salgado, she briefly lost consciousness when Hedge strangled her and she admitted to using a drill and threatening him.

Anthony Hedge and Virginia Salgado were arrested and charged with aggravated domestic assault. They were each released on a $2,500 bond.
