27-year-old Stephen Tyler Burke was charged with domestic assault after a night of drinking with his wife led to an argument over “past relationship issues” where he confiscated his family member’s phones in order to continue arguing, per report.
On October 24th, Clarksville Police Officer Matthew Harrington responded to a domestic violence with simple assault call at the residence of 3766 Silver Fox Lane. Upon arrival on the scene, Bianca Frias stated to Officer Harrington that she and her husband, Stephen Burke, got into a dispute that went “overboard.” Frias stated that the argument started downstairs after the couple had a couple of alcoholic beverages together. She told officers that in the past when the couple drank alcohol, things had a tendency to get physical. Due to the nature of the argument, Frias stated her son came to check on her because “he knows how they get after drinking.”
Frias then stated she went into her son’s room because he told her that he would call the police for her. Burke followed both Frias and her son into his room, took both of their cell phones from them, and continued to argue with her. Frias also stated that she told her son that the argument was “getting way out of hand” and was quickly escalating as it has in the past. She then attempted to retrieve both phones back from Burke, who stated that “it was not that serious” and the two ended up wrestling over the phones. Frias told Officer Harrington that Burke placed her in fear due to “knowing his capabilities and previous experiences,” so she told her son to run next door to seek help from 911 since she was scared Burke would try and get physical with her.
Officers on the scene also spoke with Stephen Burke who stated he and his wife got into a verbal argument about past relationship issues and it quickly got out of hand but it was strictly a verbal altercation. It was noted that Burke does have a domestic history with Frias and both parties admitted to having several alcoholic beverages.
Stephen Tyler Burke was arrested and charged with domestic assault. He was later released on a $2,500 bond.
