Clarksville man found stumbling along Trenton Road, unable to answer officer’s questions

28-year-old Stephen Wetter was charged with public intoxication after being found stumbling down Trenton Road and when law enforcement offered to provide transportation for him, he didn’t respond for almost four minutes, per report.

On June 12th, Officer Jones was dispatched to Tiny Town Rd regarding a man staggering along Trenton Rd. Upon arrival, Jones made contact with a subject on Tiny Town Rd matching the description given. The man, who was identified as Stephen Wetter, nearly fell when walking towards the officer.

According to the affidavit, Wetter’s eyes appeared to be bloodshot. The man was additionally noted to have the scent of alcohol coming from his person and had trouble in response to Jones’ questions. Law enforcement attempted to request transportation in the form of a taxicab for Wetter, but the man failed to respond to the question for approximately four minutes. Jones proceeded to place Wetter into custody for public intoxication, due to his instability and thereby being a danger to himself.

Stephen Wetter was arrested and charged with public intoxication. His bond was set at $439.
