Chapmansboro woman caught speeding is unable to complete sobriety tests

30-year-old Rachel Hutton was charged with driving under the influence and speeding when authorities pulled her over for speeding on Highway 76 and stated she was too intoxicated to complete sobriety tests.

On August 9th, Deputy Rivera saw a black Mazda SUV traveling on Highway 76 driving 71 miles per hour (MPH) where the posted speed limit is 55 MPH. After conducting a traffic stop at the intersection of Highway 76 and Fire Station Road the deputy found Rachel Hutton to be the driver.

He reported the smell of alcohol coming from the passenger compartment of the vehicle. Hutton had slow reactions and slurred speech while the deputy was questioning her about the traffic stop. She consented to a field sobriety test but could not perform based on her level of intoxication. Hutton was transported to Sango Emergency Room to give a blood sample before being taken to booking.

Rachel Hutton was arrested and charged with DUI and speeding. Her bond was set at $1,500.
