Woman reports ex-boyfriend for assault, witness tells police she is lying

24-year-old Kayla Turner was charged with domestic assault when she called the police and reported that her ex-boyfriend shoved and strangled her, but a neighbor that witnessed the incident told police she was lying.

On October 23rd, Clarksville Police Officer Robert Schohn was dispatched to 205 Harrier Court in reference to a domestic disturbance. Kayla Turner made the initial 911 call to report the incident. She advised police that her ex-boyfriend and her child were inside of her vehicle at the residence listed above. Turner stated she asked her ex-boyfriend to exit the vehicle so she could try to locate her card that was missing. She stated he proceeded to exit the vehicle and walk toward the residence, but he shoved and strangled her.

When the officer spoke with her ex-boyfriend, he stated she asked him to exit the vehicle and he refused. He then advised officers that is when Turner grabbed him by the shirt and attempted to forcibly remove him from the vehicle, so he pushed her away from him. Turner’s neighbor stated they witnessed the events and corroborated her ex-boyfriend’s story.

Kayla Turner was arrested and charged with domestic assault. She was later released on a $500 bond.
