Woman found with 50 grams of meth and fentanyl during traffic stop

39-year-old Jessica Christy was charged with possession of meth and fentanyl for resale, possession of marijuana, cocaine, and drug paraphernalia, criminal impersonation, and felony possession of a weapon after being pulled over on Purple Heart Parkway.

On September 13th, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputy Potter was at the intersection of Purple Heart Parkway and Evans Road when a Nissan Altima was observed approaching from the left side of the intersection. The vehicle cut across lanes of traffic to enter the far lane, and Potter started a traffic stop at Purple Heart and Jordan. Potter made contact with the driver, Jessica Christy, who was breathing rapidly and moving about the inside of the vehicle unusually during the officer’s approach. When asked for her identification, Christy replied, “I don’t have any.” Officers asked her to write her name and birthday down, and she wrote “Cynthia Schmidt 07/11/98.”

Potter realized that the person’s information he had wasn’t Christy’s when the pictures in the system didn’t match the driver. Christy was placed under arrest after refusing to give a correct name and birthdate. Christy did not claim possession of any items in the car, and a police dog sniffed a backpack from the vehicle. PSD Sabre indicated that there were drugs in the bag by pawing and biting on it, and a search yielded about 50 grams of both methamphetamine and fentanyl. The backpack also contained a syringe with a liquid form of cocaine inside. A further search of the vehicle unveiled baggies, a scale, and a Hi-point firearm in the trunk.

Jessica Christy was arrested and charged with possession of meth and fentanyl for resale, possession of marijuana, cocaine, and drug paraphernalia, criminal impersonation, and felony possession of a weapon. Her bond was set at $65,000.
