Woman throws remote and slaps husband; tells police “it was not that hard”

51-year-old Tammy Gattingnolo-Mitchell was charged with domestic assault after she threw a remote and slapped her husband during an argument about money.

On September 13th, Clarksville Police Officer Ivan Szczerbiak responded to a call at 339 Pollard Road for a domestic disturbance. Phillip Mitchell and his wife Tammy Gattignolo-Mitchell had an argument about money and how it was being spent. During the argument, Phillip stated to Officer Szczerbiak that he had been hit in the face by Tammy and by some remotes that she had thrown at him.

Phillip stated that he had grabbed Tammy’s arm to prevent her from swinging at him again. Once they separated, Phillip called police. Tammy admitted to hitting her husband but stated that it wasn’t that hard. Officers noted that she has been arrested for two previous incidents against Phillip.

Tammy Gattignolo-Mitchell was arrested and charged with domestic assault. Her bond was set at $2,500.
