Woman charged with DUI told police she had 2 drinks about 3 hours prior

42-year-old Kristy Yanez was charged with driving under the influence when her vehicle left the road and ended up in a culvert.

On March 18th, Officer Price was called to a wreck at Whitfield Road and Abby Lou Drive. At the scene, officers observed a Mazda in a ditch near the crossing. Kristy Yanez was outside of the vehicle and informed authorities she had been drinking.

Officers noted her to be slow in speech, unsteady on her feet, and detected the smell of alcohol. Yanez claimed she had imbibed 2 drinks about 3 hours earlier and agreed to sobriety tests that she performed inadequately.

Kristy Yanez was arrested and charged with driving under the influence. Her bond was set at $1,500.
