24-year-old Kayla Jackson was charged with domestic assault after she was involved in a physical altercation with her soon to be ex-wife that involved head shots, hair grabbing, and choking, per report.
On March 23rd, Officer Matthew Johnson was dispatched to 441 Kelly Lane in reference to a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, Lanetta Whitfield reported that she had a verbal altercation with her wife Kayla Jackson that became physical.
Lanetta stated she went home to get some clothes and Kayla attacked her by hitting her on the side of the head, then grabbed her by the hair and continued hitting her. The officer noted that she had no obvious signs of injury.
Officer Johnson then spoke with Kayla, who stated she’s been in a continuous argument with Lanetta because they are currently going through a divorce. She said Lanetta got angry and attacked her by choking and hitting her multiple times. The officer noted there were visible scratch marks on Kayla’s neck, but due to inconsistent statements a primary aggressor could not be determined.
Kayla Jackson was arrested and charged with domestic assault. Her bond was set at $1,000.
