Woman charged after man says she beat him with an animal skull and shovel

42-year-old Mandi Kirkwood was charged with aggravated domestic assault when a man told authorities she accosted him with the dried out skull of a farm animal and smacked his back with a shovel.

On May 2nd, Montgomery County Sheriffs Office Sergeant Daniel Gagnon was called to a domestic assault. According to the affidavit, the victim told officers that he noticed Mandi Kirkwood taking things from his domicile that he did not believe were hers. The victim then removed Kirkwood’s car keys from her person and took the questionable item back as well. He stated after this Kirkwood battered him many times with a dried out skull of a farm animal on his arm and ribs before hitting his back with a shovel.

Officers noted injuries to the victim consistent with the account. Mandi Kirkwood admitted to officers hitting the victim with the skull in an attempt to get the item in question back but denied hitting him with the shovel. She suggested a friend may have done that “for” the victim before the deputies’ arrival.

Mandi Kirkwood was arrested and charged with aggravated domestic assault. Her bond was set at $10,000.
