Woman attempts to steal over $1,500 worth of merchandise from Belk

53-year-old Sherry Bagwell was charged with theft of property when she stuffed merchandise into big bags in the luggage section at Belk worth over $1,500.

On August 6th, Officer Hagewood responded to a theft of property at Belk located inside Governor’s Square Mall at 2801 Wilma Rudolph Boulevard.

Sherry Bagwell was caught by Belk loss prevention officer Daniel Rich as she was hiding items inside of huge bags in the luggage section of the store. Altogether the total value of the items was $1,507.97.

Sherry Bagwell was arrested and charged with theft of property. Her bond was set at $2,500.
