Turtle chopped with an axe after mother bars son from listening to music

20-year-old Ronald Lyons-Winford was charged with vandalism and cruelty to animals after breaking a vehicle’s windows and a turtle’s shell with an axe because his mother told him that he was not allowed to listen to music.

On June 10th, Deputy Evans was dispatched to 1559 Dotsonville Road in regards to a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, Evans made contact with the mother of Ronald Lyons-Winford, who informed law enforcement that her son became irate after being told that he was not permitted to listen to music. According to the affidavit, Lyons-Winford responded to this by grabbing an axe from their yard and shattering the windows of their family’s van.
