Springfield man caught cruising down Dover Road in a Rav4; claims ownership of meth

49-year-old David Gregory was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, alprazolam, and methamphetamine when he was pulled over on Dover Road for expired registration.

On August 22, Deputy Burkhart was observing traffic on Dover Road traveling west. He noticed a silver Toyota Rav4 with an expired registration. While conducting the traffic stop and speaking with the occupants, Deputy Burkhart found probable cause to search the vehicle.

The search resulted in finding two glass pipes with a brunt residue inside, a white crystal-like substance that had a preliminary weight of 1.3 grams, and 6 blue pills that were identified as Alprazolam. The white crystal substance tested positive for methamphetamine. David claimed ownership of the items that were found.

David Gregory was arrested and charged with felony meth violation, simple possession schedule IV drug alprazolam, and unlawful drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $10,000.
