Nashville man charged after police overhear woman say “Get off of me”

23-year-old Taylor Hassell was charged with domestic assault and resisting arrest after he held a girl against the wall in an attempt to “hug” her, and would not leave the apartment when the police tried to speak with him.

On October 12th, Clarksville Police Officer Tribbett responded to a call about a domestic disturbance in The Bluffs over Cumberland located at 939 South Riverside Drive. After arriving at the apartment building, Officer Tribbett reported that he heard a girl’s voice saying, “get off me,” several times in a row as he was walking up to the door. He then knocked on the door, which was answered by Hannah Turner. Turner’s boyfriend, Taylor Hassell, was asked to step outside to speak with authorities.

Taylor did step outside but did not want to leave the entryway of the door to speak with Officer Tribbett, who was trying to get Taylor to walk down to the end of the breezeway. Taylor kept pulling himself away from the officer and tried pushing past him to get back to the apartment. More officers came to the apartment to help get control of the situation and were able to get Taylor into custody. Once in custody, he admitted he tried hugging Hannah, but she did not want him to touch her.

Taylor Hassell was arrested and charged with domestic assault and resisting arrest. He was released on a $2,000 bond.
