Fugitive attempts to hide drugs in police vehicle on the way to booking

27-year-old Charlotte Harshman was charged with tampering with evidence, possession of Fentanyl, drug paraphernalia, and Suboxone from two separate arrests; one involved her over-dosing on the bathroom floor of a laundromat.

On October 7th, Clarksville Police Officer Chisenhall responded to St. B Super Laundromat in response to an ambulance call. Charlotte Harshman was lying on the bathroom floor unresponsive and foaming from the mouth. On the toilet paper rack was a plastic bag of Fentanyl, a lighter, a cut plastic straw, and aluminum foil with burnt markings. She was transported to Tennova for medical treatment and then later released on her own recognizance.

On October 16th, Clarksville Police Officer Joffer placed Charlotte in custody in reference to a warrant she had on file. During transportation to booking, Officer Joffer reported the sound of a seatbelt moving. The officer stated that he could see her hand awkwardly placed on top of the portion of the belt buckle that connected to the seat. After booking, Officer Joffer saw a piece of gum wrapper that had been wedged into the crack of the seat, and on the video footage from the patrol vehicle, he saw her shoving a small object into the crack. Inside of the wrapper was a pill determined to be Suboxone. Charlotte then admitted to pushing the pill into the crack of the seat and also admitted to it being Suboxone.

Charlotte Harshman was arrested and charged with tampering with evidence, possession of Fentanyl and Suboxone, and drug paraphernalia. She was released on her own recognizance.
