Mr. Billy’s Bar patron admits to wrecking his car after calling 911 and reporting it stolen

31-year-old Daniel Garcia was charged with false report, DUI first offense, and leaving the scene with damage when he wrecked his vehicle after drinking at Mr. Billy’s Bar and then walked home to call the police and filed a fake report that it had been stolen.

On June 9th at 4:35 am, Clarksville Police Department (CPD) Officer Dilsaver spoke with Daniel Garcia at 406 Donna Drive. Garcia told the officer that he was at Mr. Billy’s Bar (557 Dover Road) at 10 pm and when he went to leave at 3 am his 2013 Nissan Sentra had been stolen. As Officer Dilsaver was filing the report for the missing vehicle, a call came through that the stolen vehicle was involved in a car accident just a few streets away from Garcia’s home.

When Garcia was asked again if he was driving his vehicle, he said yes. He went on to tell the officer that he had four or five Jack and Cokes while he was at Mr. Billy’s. Driving home he said that he wrecked his car then walked home to call 911, Officer Dilsaver reported that Garcia was unsteady on his feet so he was placed into custody. Medically he was cleared by Sango ER then transported to Montgomery Jail.

Daniel Garcia was arrested and charged with false report, DUI first offense, and leaving the scene with damage. His bond was set at $7,000.
