Mother running late for work leaves seven-year-old son home alone

26-year-old Kiersten Napodano was charged with leaving her seven-year-old at home with no cell phone, no plan for food, and no supervision for five to six hours while she was at work.

On June 11th, Clarksville Police Department (CPD) Officer Szczerbiak arrived at a residence to find a seven-year-old alone after a report given to them by Jamie Thomas. He told DCS that his mother, the defendant, Kiersten Napodano, left him home alone and he had not seen her since the evening of June 10th. She did not leave him a cell phone for emergency calls nor instructions for him to obtain food.

When she was interviewed she stated that she was running late for work when she was supposed to be there at 8 am on June 11th and did not have time to contact a babysitter. The seven-year-old son was left alone for approximately five to six hours with no emergency plan in place.

Kiersten Napodano was arrested and charged with child abuse and neglect. Her bond was set at $15,000.
