Woman tells police “I have needles in my pants” after being detained

26-year-old Kiersten Renee Napodano was charged with violation of conditions of release, open container, and improper display of plates after being caught with a flask of Crown Royal and needles in her purse, her car, and her pants.

On September 30th, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Potter initiated a traffic stop on Lafayette Road on a red Chevrolet Impala due to a tag light being out. When the patrol vehicle’s emergency equipment was activated, the Impala swerved in and out of the turning lane and the driver was observed to be leaning in the back seat and shoving something. After stopping, the driver, Kiersten Napodano, was immediately detained.

Deputy Potter noted that after a few minutes, Napodano stated she had needles in her pants. The needles were removed and while searching Napodano’s vehicle and belongings, more needles were found in the center console and inside a cosmetic pouch inside her purse. A black flask was also located in the purse and while dumping it out, Napodano spontaneously uttered it was full of Crown Royal. While conducting the investigation Deputy Potter was informed that Napodano had conditions of release and was not allowed to be in possession of drugs or alcohol.

Kiersten Renee Napodano was arrested and charged with contempt of conditions of release, open container, and improper display of plates. She was sentenced with 5 days in jail and was released as of October 6th with time served.
