Mother attempts to leave vehicle before punching husband with child present

31-year-old was charged with domestic assault after she hit her husband in the back of the head with his child present in the vehicle.

On November 20th, Clarksville Police Officer Kristen Ashford responded to domestic violence with simple assault at the residence of 501 Providence Boulevard. Officer Ashford made contact with Ariel Peters and the victim, Brian Peters, and his child. Brian Peters stated that, while he was driving, Ariel Peters tried to open her door.

Brian Peters was trying to stop her from getting out of the vehicle, but Ariel Peters struck Brian Peters about three times in the back of the head with a closed fist per the report. Officer Ashford talked with the child, and the child said that Brian Peters was trying to stop Ariel Peters from leaving the moving vehicle. The child also stated that Ariel Peters was “throwing punches.” Officer Ashford could not find any signs of injury on either of them.

Ariel Peters was arrested and charged with domestic assault. She was later released on a $1,000 bond.
