Man’s ex reports he tried to run her off road; charged with aggravated domestic assault

28-year-old Andrew Rittenhouse was charged with aggravated assault and vandalism after reportedly breaking his ex-girlfriend’s mirror, attempting to run her off the road, and sending her texts stating he was going to kill her.

On November 21st, Andrew Rittenhouse reportedly arrived at 1954 Jim Kim Road, the address of his ex-girlfriend, Hannah Polston, to confront her about their breakup. Hannah told deputies when he arrived, she fled the residence, due to their history of domestic assault. When she returned later, he pulled his vehicle in immediately behind hers. Hannah then stated he exited his vehicle and questioned whether she was sure they were broken up.

When she replied she was sure, she claimed he punched her mirror, doing roughly $100 worth of damage. Hannah stated she was able to pull around him and escape the scene. She told police he chased her in his own vehicle and attempted to run her off the road, and tried to brake in front of her car to stop her. Hannah reported this plus the text messages saying he was going to kill her put her in fear of bodily injury.

On November 23rd, Andrew Rittenhouse was arrested and charged with aggravated domestic assault and vandalism. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $10,500 bond. His case has been bound over to a grand jury.
