Man tells sister he will “kill her and slit her throat” during an argument

21-year-old Tyler Johnson was charged with aggravated assault and unlawful drug paraphernalia after he made a statement about killing his sister during an argument.

On May 17th, Officer Chisenhall was dispatched to a domestic violence call at 129 Westfield Court. Upon arrival, contact was made with Jazzamine Johnson and her mother, Ms. Martin. Jazzamine stated that her brother Tyler Johnson threatened her with a kitchen knife. Ms. Martin, Jazzamine, and Tyler all live in a hotel room at the In Town Suites. Jazzamine stated that during a verbal argument, Tyler went into the kitchen and displayed a knife at her and made the statement that he would “fucking kill her and slit her throat.”

Jazzamine stated that Tyler threatened her to make a move and to “cross the line” so he could kill her. Jazzamine stated she sat in the chair until Tyler left the hotel. Ms. Martin was present and witnessed the threat. Tyler left prior to police arrival and contact was not made.

On August 26th, Officer Long initiated a traffic stop on a red Pontiac G6 for failure to signal at 640 North Riverside Drive. During the course of the traffic stop, contact was made with Tyler Johnson. During a search of Tyler’s person, a cut straw with powder residue was located. He stated the straw was used to ingest pills.

Tyler Johnson was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and unlawful drug paraphernalia. His total bond was set at $10,000.
