Man strangles girlfriend, threatens to kill her and her family if she calls police

29-year-old Sergio Estrada-Preciado was charged with three counts of aggravated assault after he strangled his girlfriend at the A & W Hotel on Madison Street and threatened to kill her and her family if she reported it to police, per report.

On June 26th, Officer Edwards was dispatched near the A & W Hotel located on 1505 Madison Street in regards to a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, Edwards made contact with the girlfriend of Sergio Estrada-Preciado, who informed officers that she had been strangled by her boyfriend at the hotel. According to the affidavit, Estrada-Preciado made threats of violence on her and her family if she contacted law enforcement about the incident.

After the woman successfully separated herself from Estrada-Preciado, she traveled to her brother’s residence to report the assault. Officers observed a cut on the side of her neck from the strangulation. Following two interviews with the woman, law enforcement determined Estrada-Preciado to be the assailant during the incident.

On June 27th, Sergio Estrada-Preciado was arrested and charged with three counts of aggravated assault. His bond was set at $30,000.
