42-year-old Marcus Cunningham was charged with domestic assault when he grabbed his wife by the back of the neck and slammed her on the floor over messages that he saw on her phone.
On August 22nd, Officer Oakley was dispatched to 3434 Allen Road in response to domestic violence with simple assault. Upon arrival, contact was made with Marcus Cunningham and his wife, Claricesa Cunningham.
Marcus advised that he and his wife were in a verbal altercation over text messages he observed on her phone. Claricesa stated that Marcus confronted her about said messages and at that point, Claricesa took her phone back. Marcus then grabbed her by the neck and slammed her on the floor when they were in the kitchen.
Claricesa walked to the bathroom in an attempt to get away from Marcus as he followed her while arguing continuously. As Claricesa walked to the living room to sit down, Marcus began to strike her in the head with his hands. Officers observed an abrasion on Claricessa’s brow above her right eye which confirmed Marcus to be the primary aggressor.
Marcus Cunningham was arrested and charged with domestic assault. His bond was set at $2,500.
